PARLIER Environnement SAS · Practical guide
Water treatment and shellfish depuration are connected but distinct. PARLIER Environnement reviews the water circuit, operating arrangements, animals and available monitoring data to help define a technical investigation or investment project.

Water treatment and animal depuration
Water treatment concerns the circuit and its filtration or disinfection stages. Depuration concerns the animals and the operating conditions that support the process and prevent recontamination. The FAO reference explains why system design and operation matter, and why depuration has limitations for viruses and other contaminants.
What the cabinet can assess
- Circuit plans and equipment.
- Tank capacities, species, batches and operating cycles.
- Monitoring records, incidents and maintenance.
- Technical options and further measurements needed.
From assessment to investment
Possible deliverables include a technical diagnostic, investigation programme, comparison of options or requirements for supplier consultation. For a project in France, the FEAMPA preparation guide in French explains the information to organise and the conditions to confirm with the relevant authority.
Scope and limits
Technical support does not replace official controls, establishment approval or verification of the process. Requirements and investigation methods are agreed for the actual site.
